The Provence-Alpes-Côtes d’Azur Region is a melting pot where studios, independent creators and schools of excellence coexist. The local association GameSud helps to give cohesion to this scattered ecosystem, between Nice (esports) and Marseille (favored landing city for studios). The PACA region is an attractive territory, thanks of course its local art of living but also due to its regional aid fund for prototyping and video game production, less competitive and therefore more generous for beneficiary studios.
Combining both experienced professionals, sometimes at the head of studios that have celebrated their 20th anniversary, and inventive micro-entrepreneurs, the region can rely on schools with an international reputation (ISART Digital, Ecole des Nouvelles Images) to constantly renew the talents.
Finally, the events network, ranging from afterworks to European business fair (CartoonNext), also defines the PACA region as a space for regular intersection between the video game and animation sectors.

THE LOCAL ASSOCIATION

GameSud is the program dedicated to the video game industry by SudAnim, the regional association of animation and video game professionals. Its pillars of action are: international visibility and influence (for example presence at international trade fairs like Gamescom) ; promotion of the territory by supporting regional festivals and initiatives (B2B and B2C) ; networking and strategic synergies between institutions, studios, producers, schools and students ; support for creation and innovation by educating the micro-entrepreneurs through coaching sessions (aid funds).
