Eight regions across France offer selective funding schemes specifically dedicated to the video game industry. The regional schemes support various stages of the game development (from conception to production) depending on each region’s guidelines.
The total public funding for a video game (Tax Credit and National, Regional Schemes) – excluding the CNC’s Support Fund for Technical Projects (AMT) – cannot exceed 50% of the total project cost.
These non-repayable regional schemes fall under the EU de minimis aid framework, which limits public support to €300,000 per company over a rolling three-year period.
