Dordogne is like nothing else. Drawn in watercolour, the game from the studio Un Je Ne Sais Quoi (associated with Umanimation) tells the story of Mimi, a young woman of 32 whose grandmother has just passed away. She travels to her house in the Dordogne to evoke memories of the last summer she spent there when she was 12, and where a number of riddles have left behind by Mimi's grandmother for the player to solve. Developed by a team of over thirty people, Dordogne is the brainchild of Cédric Babouche, founder of Un Je Ne Sais Quoi and director and artistic director of numerous animated films: "I was thinking about how to tell stories in a way other than through cinema and television. I also wanted to have much more control over the narrative and be less dependent on the choices of broadcasters. What video games offer are precisely that, a total freedom. Alongside founder and CEO of Umanimation, Aymeric Castaing, he takes a look back at the genesis of Dordogne and the interest it has generated among foreign audiences.
